About the Symposium
Helping to shape leaders and drive results since 1983

Kenan-Flagler Professor Barry Roberts created Symposium in 1983 as a way to bring students closer to the business community. Since its inception, the event has grown dramatically and is one of the largest student-run events in the country and an annual highlight of Kenan-Flagler. The defining purpose was, and remains, to help students begin to develop a sense of professionalism and to gain exposure to critical and contemporary, real-world issues-enhancing what students learn in the classroom. Another objective of Symposium was to allow students to ask any question of executives in a non-threatening environment.

The 25th Annual Undergraduate Business Symposium is different from all its predecessors. While not only honoring the long-standing tradition and its place within the Kenan-Flagler community, it also seeks to better serve the needs of students and the interests of executives. From introducing a new program called the Collaborative Case Immersion to bringing every executive to one networking session for Seniors, Symposium 2009 seeks to better address the individual needs of students from the two classes. This year's theme, Distinguish Yourself in a Competitive World, also aims at helping students hone their ability to communicate the aspects that make them unique contributors to society.

How do I sign up?
